Dynamic Line Rating

Today, Dynamic Line Rating (DLR) technology is used for more than just determining the real-time transmission capacity of high-voltage overhead lines. Thanks to the research and development work carried out at the High Voltage Laboratory, a complex transmission-line management system built on the foundations of DLR is being developed and tested. As part of this work, we apply and fine-tune our subsystems for determining current rating, conductor temperature and sag, and for forecasting conductor icing, in cooperation with a number of European TSOs (APG, ELJ, ESO, IPTO, HOPS, MAVIR, NoSBIH).
