The department has a decades-long tradition of a demonstrator programme, through which students in bachelor's and master's programmes can gradually become involved in the everyday work of the High Voltage Technology and Equipment Group, in the fields of education, research, or even development.

The High Voltage Technology and Equipment Group (NFCS) teaches the courses related to electric power engineering and high-voltage technology taken by students of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, supplementing them, for demonstration and teaching purposes, with measurements and demonstrations held in the High Voltage Laboratory and the KNX laboratory. The measurements carried out in the Laboratory form an integral part of the education provided in the electrical engineering, environmental engineering and mechanical engineering programmes, as well as of the curriculum of the individual university courses taught by the High Voltage Technology and Equipment Group.
